INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE
The term Integrative refers to the blending of holistic therapies with conventional, more medication oriented Western Medicine. These treatments come under the umbrella of Naturopathic Medicine, or any treatment utilizing our bodies own ability to heal itself including dietary or nutritional changes, supplements, vitamins, massage, yoga, pilates, osteopathic and physical therapy, chiropractic, energy medicines like homeopathy, acupuncture, Reiki, and Therapeutic Touch, Feldenkrais, Chinese Medicine, Bio-Identical Hormonal Therapy and any other treatment that restores natural balance. Although I am a Medical Doctor (MD), I prefer to use or recommend the therapies mentioned above to medications and am nationally certificated in Homeopathy (CCH). Patients are often frustrated by Western medicines' approach to symptoms of fatigue, fibromyalgia, hormonal imbalances, weight gain or insomnia. Integrative Medicine often offers avenues for testing and treatment of these conditions. |
